AAI 2 Really Isn't Coming Out Outside of Japan

Christan Svensson (Capcom's VP of strategic planning and business development) made a post on the Capcom-Unity forums about it.

Text for the link-phobic:

"I'll be a little more clear.

The costs of localization are higher than the forecasted return. And no, it wouldn't sell more than Okamiden (which has already sold more than the first Investigations).

Could this content show up on some other platform somewhere down the line? Possibly, but there's nothing on that front for me to talk about. I realize there are fans who would like to have this and I'll be sure to explore ways that could happen viably in the future with our strategy and R&D teams but no promises."

I'm so sad about this. I have full confidence that the AA fandom is dedicated enough to release a fan translation, but it's really not the same, you know? I hope they reconsider.

On the one hand, I've heard a lot of talk from people who played the Japanese version who say it kinda sucks.

On the other hand, WHAT THE F-ING F, I WANT MY FAKE LAWYER GAMES.

I thought for sure it would be localized. I guess the games really aren't selling as well as I thought. I wasn't too excited about AAI2 but it really sucks for people who've been looking forward to it for months.

I really, really wanted this game for so many reasons. Even though AAI isn't my favorite in the series, I did enjoy it enough to want a sequel.
